HAPPY CHRISTIAN

HOW TO BE A HAPPY CHRISTIAN:

[This Bible study grew out of a Ladies' Bible Class in Parkersburg, WV, many years ago.  It still says important things.  R.D.Ice  5-7-06]

1. Jesus came to give us abundant life and Christian joy.  John 10:10; 2 Peter 1:11; Philippians 4:4-9

Matthew 6:25,33,34

6. Be content - whatever your condition.
Hebrews 13:5; Romans 8:26-28

8. Be patient.  James 1:4; 5:8

9. Direct your attention to heavenly things.
Matthew 6:19-21; Colossians 3:2

THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST
(adapted from Peterson)

Entering into this fullness of Christ
is not something you figure out
or achieve by yourself with good works.
It is not a matter of being circumcised
or keeping a long list of laws.

When you were put under the water
your old life was buried.
Coming up out of it was a resurrection.
God raised you from the dead
just as He did raise Christ from the dead.

Think of it!  All sins forgiven!
The slate wiped clean!
The old arrest warrant canceled and
nailed to the Cross with Christ.
[Col 2:14-23; Eph 2:14-18]

He stripped all the spiritual tyrants
in the universe of their pretended authority
and marched them naked through the streets.
So, don’t put up with anyone pressuring you
in details of diet, worship services,
or holy days - all shadows of
what was to come.

The substance is Christ Jesus!
He is the Head and we are His body.
We can grow up healthy in God
only as He nourishes us.
We Christians are ONE in The Holy Spirit,
and we praise God with ONE VOICE!

[1 Cor. 12:12-13]
